In my classes I'm always saying, "if you've got cooked beans in the fridge, you always have food". Here's just one example. I don't remember what kind of beans they are but they look like Rio Zapes, a rich, dense bean with an appealing sweetness and a thick broth. They could just as deliciously be pintos or some other bean less exotic. The point is, here's a good lunch made from scrounging around in the fridge.
1 primavera tortilla, heated in the cast-iron pan
a scoop of beans
avocado
a little of whatever cheese you have
cilantro
your favorite hot sauce (this is the addictive green stuff from Guatemala called Salsa Brava Picamas)

Any idea where to buy Salsa Brava Picamas in the US (or online)?
I’ve never heard of them and google turns up nothing. Where did you have them? Or have you grown them? Maybe they’re an old heirloom that home gardeners have saved but aren’t available commercially. Check with Rancho Gordo. He might know about them.
